General:
A true Timeseer banger track! As Crimson starts to fall, we dance the night away!
Production:
As the first song of the World Tree Tech album, it is a real dance song! The instruments come straight from the future-past. I asked some aliens to play some synth for me and this is what we got. I enjoyed playing with vocal layers for this track -- I even ventured into operatic singing for the choruses. There is also a vocal pad moment around 2:40 -- these 10 seconds cost me about 5 hours to make lolol.
Lyrics:
Yeah, the lyrics are a bit strange. This is a real Codex song. With Towers, Rivers, and a Crimson City, you really need the Codex for this one. For this song, I will explain a bit more.
The intro starts as the pre-Codex state: many strange kinds of shadows touching you. Then, the first verse opens the gate to your own Tower. I admit, the pre-chorus was a bit cheeky, but does it not sound so nice to sing?
The chorus is clearly about integrating the Codex, and by extension, building the Sapphire City. The post-chorus tells you about a strange movement. Or should I rather say 'a Strange movement'?. That is some Codex Magic for you ;)
By the second verse, you've come back to your Tower. It looks a bit sad inside... But that is okay, because nightmares are not true. That might be my favourite line inside my entire oeuvre by the way. Because it really is true: nightmares are just bad dreams. And even metaphorical nightmare people, well they are Evil in Codex terms. So, not true..
After the second verse, I wanted a moment to really dance away all the old Crimson. This moment is where you build your Alien Tower, so be sure to dance well! After landing, we go through the chorus arc again.
And then, we come to the bridge. This is code. Sung code. What is it about? That is for you to decode.
Finally, the outro is pretty self-explanatory. It's time to watch fireflies!
Codex Crystals:
This Artifact is mostly E11. It is about self-transformation through novel Vision. There is of course the full Tower architecture that gets reshaped with Strange currents behind the changes, but E11 dominates overall.
