‘NeptuneBoy’ is Blood-Heart’s thalassic hymn. An oceanic backdrop, a swelling ancient-futuristic instrumental, a microtonal melody, and hypnotic lyrics converge to seduce a man.
The male siren’s song dives into the overwhelming desire NeptuneBoy and the singer experience as they meet in timeless sexual encounters. The emotional textures are complex and intentionally ambiguous.
It is not entirely clear who is more desired in this encounter, and the perspectives of the two men blur in multiple lines. What is clear is that NeptuneBoy cannot hold the intensity of the encounter well, unlike the singer who is more confident around intense emotions, but perhaps also ‘ghosted’ by his NeptuneBoy.
